Variants§
Ram
Guest RAM or similar shareable memory. IOMMU mapping failures are
fatal. Exposed via GuestMemorySharing (vhost-user).
Device
Device memory (e.g., a PCI BAR). IOMMU mapping failures are
non-fatal — they only affect peer-to-peer DMA to this region.
Not exposed via GuestMemorySharing.
